The mechanical workshop is specialized in construction of mechanical parts in a wide variety of materials ranging from metals to plastics.
To that purpose, the workshop is equipped with a broad range of machines like milling machines, lathes, drills, saws, polishing machines, plate folding and cutting machines, etc. Some of these machines are numerically controlled (NC).
The necessary computer infrastructure, including Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, is available in the workshop to make 2D and 3D designs of mechanical parts. Computer Aided Machining (CAM) software then converts the mechanical designs into commands for the NC milling machines.
The mechanical workshop also has a 3D printer for quick prototyping in plastic materials. It has an assembly room and a semi-clean room for assembling space hardware. It is further equipped to perform welding of mechanical structures.
